Programming
Vice President
The
US Women of Today are unique in offering their members a variety
of programs which not only help them contribute to their communities
and society, but also assist them in their own personal growth
and development. Programming opportunities fall into two areas:
External and Internal. The Internal area is comprised
of three (3) programs: Focus on Women/Chaplain; Success Through
Enthusiastic Participation (STEP); and Personal Enrichment.
The External Program is currently POAC (Parents of Autistic Children). The
Programming VP also promotes the Outstanding Achievement in
Programming awards program and Project Recognition.

Members
are encouraged to become more actively involved in their chapters
and states by participating in as many areas of the organization
as possible. By fulfilling certain preset requirements,
members can certify in STEP I (within their first 90 days
as a member), STEP II (within their first 12 months as a member)
and/or STEP III (every Women of Today year after the first
year).

Focus
on Women / Chaplain Program Manager
Along
with Personal Enrichment & STEP, the Focus on Women/Chaplain
area offers a wide variety of information and opportunities
for members to work on their personal growth and development.
Although at the local/state level these two areas are often
covered by separate program managers, at the National level,
they are both covered by the FOW/Chaplain Program Manager.

 |
External
Area Program Manager
The US Women of Today offers members a variety of programs which not only help them with
their own personal growth and development, but also encourages
them to work with selected foundations. Every three years, members
select an established foundation to work with to promote both
the US Women of Today and the foundation. In the past, USWT has
worked with March of Dimes, Leukemia Foundation, RESOLVE, Multiple Sclerosis and
Breast Cancer Awareness. Effective June 2004, the selected foundation is
Parents of Autistic Children (POAC). Educating members on autism and how it affects the lives of women and their families is the focus of the United States Women of Today External Area for 2004-2007. The National Program Manager works with POAC, to present educational materials and fundraiser suggestions to the United States Women of Today states and chapters. |
